Package changes are the big items for the 2025 model years of the GMC Sierra 2500. A trailer brake controller is now standard at every trim level. Front and rear parking sensors are optional for the lowest trim levels and standard on higher ones. Power
GMC offers two 6.6-liter engines for the Sierra 2500. The gas version provides more than 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque; the diesel version hits 470 horsepower and nearly 1,000 pound-feet of torque. With the diesel and the best trailering setup, the Sierra 2500 has a maximum towing capacity of over 22,000 pounds. Randolph drivers also can haul 3,000 pounds in the bed.
Buyers can purchase the Sierra 2500 as a four- or rear-wheel drive (RWD). Every Sierra 2500 uses an automatic transmission.
